My name is
John Yablonsky and I am currently in prison for a murder that I didn't commit. During
my trial, my lawyer never put up a fight, all the while, telling me that he
would handle things and take care of my case. He never argued any of my points
nor did he object to anything the DA said regardless of whether or not it was a
lie.
I was forced
into finding a sense of meditation throughout my trial. I am self-taught, with
the help of books and severe criticism by other inmates in the unit. Some of
the sketches in this collection were conducted while on lockdowns because of
institution murders within the jails or prison.
The stress in these situations is far too much to conceive, while you'd expect
some degree of security and safety in this situation. Shards of table being
carved in the shape of swords and knives, or senseless attacks for no apparent
reasons, while six men plunge these weapons into some unknown and defenseless
inmate.
The cops that pull you out of the cell at three in the morning, handcuffed
behind your back and skee-ball you across the floors
on your belly in your underwear while under the threat of shotgun blasts at
pointblank range that fire rubber bullets or bean bags, only to carry the
message that they're the cops and you‘re not!
As if being convicted for a murder that your 100% innocent of isn't enough, and
having to keep your eye on the attorney just to make sure he does his damn job
right, and not sell you out in some kind of hallway negotiations, just to ease
his workload later on.
I was in fact sentenced to LIFE or in layman’s terms, FOREVER, on a murder that
I had nothing to do with, and the state didn't even prove I was involved, but
did allow the twelve innocent people to listen to the states bullshit trial,
then forced them to deliberated into a verdict, even after they already said
they were hopelessly deadlocked.
